Our core belief is three-fold: that interdependence is the nature of the universe; that authentic contemplative practice generates deep insight into interdependence and awakens unselfish compassion for others; and that the combination of contemplative insight and compassion represents the purest and surest force for positive social change.

In addition to its own initiatives, Garrison Institute hosts a wide spectrum of residential retreats and conferences of local, regional and national organizations. Since its inception in April 2003 the Institute has hosted over 180 retreats and conferences with over 9,400 participants in total attendance.

Teachers and facilitators of many traditions and orientations whose missions are in keeping with Garrison Institute are invited to book our facilities for their groups.

Our extraordinary location on the Hudson River and proximity to New York City combined with simple but elegant accommodations, a stunning meditation/meeting hall with versatile breakout rooms and excellent vegetarian food combine to make Garrison Institute the perfect venue for groups of 40 to 165 people.
