People Who Care for People: Tools for Resiliency, with Sharon Salzberg, Gina Sharpe and Cheri Maples

salzberg-sharpe-maples-368hzWe are excited that these three distinguished teachers will be coming together January 27-30, 2011, to lead a retreat especially for anyone in helping professions or a caregiving role. Many in helping professions, such as first responders, domestic violence shelter workers, human rights workers, nurses, therapists and teachers, serve populations experiencing trauma, loss or dislocation. Often these same people are caregivers to ailing parents, demanding children, co-workers and partners. People Who Care for People, a program of the Garrison Institute’s Wellness Project, will explore various dimensions of resiliency in response to stress, burnout and secondary trauma, to help those who help people through adversity, trauma or loss. A limited number of scholarships are available. Learn more at www.garrisoninstitute.org/people2011
