Introducing the Compassionate Leadership in Finance PODCAST

We are excited to collaborate with Mindful on Wall Street to share a series of podcasts of our conversations with leaders in finance. These discussions will illuminate how successful decision-makers apply mindfulness and compassionate leadership in their day-to-day life and work. To quote one of Mindful on Wall Street’s taglines: “Mindfulness: It starts with you.”

In this first podcast, Howard Fischer shares his journey from leading a hedge fund (Basso Capital), to leading Gratitude Railroad. Gratitude Railroad is a community of investors who are inspired and dedicated to solving environmental and social problems through profitable deployment of financial, intellectual, and human capital. In 2021, Howard joined the first Compassionate Leadership in Finance Program (CLiF). In this podcast he shares his personal story and how mindfulness and his contemplative practice have made a difference on how he leads – especially in turbulent times.

CLiF is a four-month immersive leadership program that empowers senior and rising finance leaders to utilize mindful and compassionate leadership. Through developing compassion for self, others, and society, attendees learn to better manage teams, develop and retain talent, create an inclusive culture, and realize the ESG and DEI goals adopted by their organizations.

Drawing on decades of industry experience and cutting-edge research in the fields of mindfulness, leadership training, and emotional intelligence, the CLiF faculty have developed a uniquely powerful program that includes expert guidance, signature frameworks, an in-person retreat, 1:1 coaching and assessments, and peer support.
