DECORA: Distinction Album Listening Experience

Be a part of Distinction, an interactive, immersive musical art piece by Decora in collaboration with Melissa McGill, set against the backdrop of the Garrison Institute grounds.

AfroLatinX poet and rapper, Decora, in collaboration with interdisciplinary artist Melissa McGill and in partnership with the Garrison Institute, will be hosting the Distinction, using the labyrinths of the Garrison Institute grounds to create an immersive musical experience, which captures the aggressive feelings of oppression, in a time where everything is accessible and emotions are transmuted through social media.

Decora has shared the stage with artists such as Justine Skye, Meek Mill and Ms. Lauryn Hill. His work has been introduced in collaboration with Lincoln Center, Storm King Art Center and Art Basel.

Melissa McGill is known for her ambitious, collaborative site-specific public art projects using sculptural elements, performance, water, light and sound to present experiential works that connect us to rich overlooked histories and traditions, while heightening awareness of our environment.

This event, hosted by the Garrison Institute, will take place on Sunday, October 4th from 5:30-8:30pm.

***All proceeds from Distinction will go towards Black Lives Matter***
