Everyday Love: A Conversation on Relationships with Sharon Salzberg and Ethan Nichtern

Is it possible to live an awakened life even in our everyday relationships? Is there such a thing as true love? What does meditation teach us about living with true connection?
Join Sharon Salzberg, author of the new book Real Love: The Art of Mindful Connection, and her friend and colleague, Ethan Nichtern, author of The Dharma of the Princess Bride: What the Coolest Fairy Tale of our Time can Teach us about Buddhism and Relationships, as they talk about love and practice in everyday time.
The discussion will be followed by a small reception and book sales and signing.

Sharon Salzberg has been leading meditation retreats worldwide since 1974. She teaches both intensive awareness practice (vipassana or insight meditation) and the profound cultivation of lovingkindness and compassion (the Brahma Viharas). She is a co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. Sharon’s latest book is the New York Times Best Seller, Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation: A 28-Day Program.
Ethan Nichtern is a Shastri, a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition. He is the author of the acclaimed book The Road Home: A Contemporary Exploration of the Buddhist Path (Farrar Straus and Giroux, North Point Press). His next book, The Dharma of The Princess Bride: What The Coolest Fairy Tale of Our Time Can Teach Us About Buddhism and Relationships will be released by FSG – North Point on September 12, 2017. For the past 15 years, Ethan has taught meditation and Buddhist psychology classes and workshops around New York City and the United States. He primarily studies in the Shambhala tradition under Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, but has also studied Theravadan and Soto Zen Buddhism. He is also an avid yoga practitioner.
