Integrating the Double Bottom Line: How Social Impact Drives Financial Return

The first annual New Summit Investor Retreat will be held at the Garrison Institute from the afternoon of Wednesday, June 5th through lunch on Friday, June 7th, 2019. Thought leaders, fund managers and investors will explore the theme, “Integrating the Double Bottom Line: How Social Impact Drives Financial Return.” The retreat is designed to foster conversations and connections among our partners engaged in the rapidly growing field of impact investing.

Presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions will include pioneers in the field such as Jonathon Rose of Rose Companies, Nancy Pfund of DBL Partners, Peter Stein of Lyme Timber, Monica Brand Engel of Quona AFIF, Michael Hokensen of Community Investment Management, and Josh Cohen of City Light Capital. While the agenda will be full, ample time is afforded for personal reflection and enjoying the natural beauty of the property. We expect attendees to leave the retreat refreshed by the setting and enriched with new relationships and a deeper understanding of the ways social impact can drive financial return.

Topics will include:
-Systems thinking: moving from single-lens impact to systemic impact
-Broadening the opportunity set: how diversity drives opportunity and value
-How impact shapes successful business models
-How more mature fund groups are evolving their thinking about systemic impact…what comes with size and success?
-Evolution of impact measurement and reporting

The Garrison Institute is about an hour north from Grand Central Station, and the Institute offers a complementary shuttle service during registration check-in hours.
