Mindfulness Retreat for the US Military Academy (2026)

Participants will be guided by West Point instructors through a series of mindfulness based meditation practices including: connection, purpose, awareness and insight.

The retreat will be conducted over the course of two days (May 26 and May 27)

 

SCHEDULE

May 26| 1:00 p.m. ET to 5:00 p.m. ET

May 27 | 9:00 a.m. ET to 4:00 p.m. ET

Check-in on the first day will run from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. ET.

 

 

FACILITATOR

 

Dr. Ryan Erbe received his PhD in Health Behavior and Human Development from Indiana University. He is currently the Director of Character Education in the Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic and an Assistant Professor in the Behavioral Sciences and Leadership Department at the United States Military Academy. Dr. Erbe designs curriculum and teaches courses focused on Character Education and Psychology and conducts research on spirituality, meditation, emotion regulation, resilience, and character formation. He had led several meditation retreats at the Garrison Institute serving the community and West Point populations. Dr. Erbe is also an Adjunct Professor for the Mountain Theological Seminary where he teaches a course on counseling adolescents and served as the lead minister of the Hudson Valley Church for 4 years. He currently resides in Highland Falls, NY with his wife Katie, daughters Evelyn, Vivian, and Lilian, and son William.

 

 

 


COVID-19

The health and safety of our guests and staff is a top priority for the Garrison Institute. To attend a retreat or event all guests, teachers, and staff are strongly encouraged to self-test (at home antigen test is acceptable) within the 48-hour window prior to arriving for a retreat on site, and to bring a 2nd self-test kit when coming on site. We encourage everyone to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and other illnesses before your visit.
