Sharon Salzberg with Mark Bertin and Christopher Willard: Raising Resilient Children

Please note: this event takes place at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan in New York City. Purchase tickets here.

Buzz words such as “thriving,” “resilience,” and “mindfulness” may fill headlines and sell books, but what do they really mean, and how do we cultivate these traits in ourselves and our families? The good news is that while the buzzwords may change, the basic concepts of skilllful parenting have been known across cultures for millennia. What’s changed is that we now have the brain science to back up what works best, even in our hyperwired world. While research suggests this new generation is growing into adulthood with less resilience and more health and mental health challenges than ever before, we can look to the best of what both science and wisdom traditions teach us about happy, healthy families.

This event is presented by the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and the Garrison Institute. Tickets are $20.
