Virtual Retreat: “Cultivating the Resilience to Pursue Our Goals” with Josh Korda and Jessica Morey
A limited number of scholarships are available for this program. To apply, please complete this online application.
Resilience is the quality that allows us to experience interpersonal rejections, disappointments, losses, to be knocked down, yet respond with renewed resolve; a refusal to give up pursuing our goals in love, friendships, work and creative endeavors. This daylong retreat will include a variety of contemplative practices that support resiliency, including guided somatic meditations, dharma talks and times for questions.
As the Buddha noted, suffering happens in life. Resilience is the quality that allows us to experience interpersonal rejections, disappointments, losses, to be knocked down, yet respond with renewed resolve; a refusal to give up pursuing our goals in love, friendships, work and creative endeavors.
Resiliency is not a mysterious, unknowable quality, available to some of us but not others. The Buddha identified factors allow us to build resiliency, such as the skill to experience all setbacks as transpersonal, rather than uniquely personal experiences, while psychologists have developed significant practices to enhance perseverance and courage, such as the ability to develop a secure base to regulate emotions after disappointments, how to think about (or frame) setbacks skillfully, and many other tools.
This 1 day virtual retreat will include a variety of contemplative practices that support resiliency, including guided somatic meditations, dharma talks, relational exercises, breathwork and movement techniques. There will be multiple opportunities to ask questions of teachers.
This Virtual Retreat will be conducted on Zoom from 10:00am – 4:00pm EST on Sunday, July 26. The virtual retreat link will be emailed to participants within twenty-four hours of your registration. Registration for this live webinar closes at 9:00am EST on July 26.
