Webinar: “An Hour of Contemplation for Our Time” with Mary Anne Best
The Garrison Institute presents a live, interactive webinar with Mary Anne Best, a teacher and practitioner in the Christian contemplative tradition.
“By opening yourself in contemplation, you are praying for everyone past, present, and future. You are embracing the whole of creation. You are accepting everyone, everything, all reality, and doing so with the inmost part of your own being, of which you may not even be aware, namely, the spiritual level of your being.” – Thomas Keating
It is in the silence that we reach across boundaries of all kinds. There is neither male nor female, Jew nor Greek. Herein, by intention, we let go of preference, fear, anxiety, doubt, expectancy, and simply abide in the expansiveness of the ground of all being, even if only for this time.
Joining with others in an hour of intentional silence to bind the wounds and anxieties of humanity is powerful, freeing, and healing. The program will include 25 minutes of silent practice of your choice, followed by the ancient monastic practice of Lectio Divina, followed by the opportunity to share.
This live webinar will be conducted on Zoom at 4pm EDT on Tuesday, June 2. The webinar link will be emailed to participants within twenty-four hours of your registration. Registration for this live webinar closes at 3pm EDT on June 2. Please note that participation in the live webinar on Zoom is limited to the first 1,000 attendees. We will also be live-streaming this program on our Youtube.
