Nichol Chase, E-RYT 500, TSM, BM
Nichol Chase (she/her) is a yoga and mindfulness educator, and musician. Nichol is a teacher’s teacher, and has designed adult education programs for yoga and mindfulness including teacher trainings, intensives, retreats and workshops. She also has extensive experience managing yoga schools and yoga studios, in addition to building her own company for trauma sensitive educational programs, Wisdom Building Method. Nichol worked in various capacities for The Mazé Method Yoga School from 2013 to 2023, where she had a role as lead faculty for teacher trainings. She is on the faculty and leads programs at Esalen Institute, Garrison Institute, Kripalu, and Omega Institute. Nichol holds a Bachelor of Music from University of the Pacific, is an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, a certified Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness teacher, and is in the process of becoming certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She was a 2020 – 2022 Garrison Institute Fellow, a program based in contemplative social action – an emergent field leveraging contemplative-based approaches for social transformation through a co-creation with the Institute’s network of scholars, practitioners, and organizations committed to contemplative social action and transformative change. Nichol’s artistic experience includes more than a decade of Royal Academy ballet training and specialization as an operatic Coloratura Soprano. Nichol’s study of yoga piqued an interest in bhajan and kirtan from the Indian musical tradition, resulting in the addition of the harmonium to her repertoire for accompaniment. She continues to study mantra, bhajan and kirtan along with a vast array of Western musical styles. Nichol lives with her husband in the San Francisco Bay Area, but teaches classes, workshops, and intensives nationally and internationally. In the rare moments when she is not practicing or teaching yoga and mindfulness, you will find her sharpening her harmonium and guitar skills, reading a book, or exploring Northern California’s coasts and trails.
