Transforming Lives

In 2025, we had to turn away almost 35% of people who sought the refuge our retreats uniquely provide. With your support, we can prevent the number of people we turn away from growing in 2026.

Every gift truly matters, because every gift means one less person turned away.

This year, we couldn’t help 1 in 3 scholarship applicants—people seeking refuge, healing, and transformationpeople we simply didn’t have the resources to welcomeIt’s also worth asking how many more never applied at all because the overall costs of attending felt out of reach.

Here’s what makes this situation particularly urgent: a major three-year scholarship partnership concludes this month, meaning we must now sustain this support through individual donors.

With renewed donor support, we can prevent the number of people we turn away from growing in 2026.

For the more than 120 scholarship applicants we could help, the impact was profound:

“I learned more on this retreat than my other experiences combined, stretching from practical, everyday strategies to a deeper understanding of neuroscience, psychology, Buddhism and the fabric of the reality.”

“I have felt subtle changes in my nervous system, including reduced anxiety and a general slowing down that has led to unexpectedly peaceful moments throughout my days.”

FAQ

Why are scholarships necessary?

Many people who need contemplative retreat experiences most—healthcare workers, teachers, community organizers, and BIPOC practitioners—cannot afford retreat costs. Scholarships make healing accessible regardless of financial circumstances.

How are scholarship recipients selected?

We prioritize those with demonstrated financial need, members of underrepresented communities, and helping professionals who serve others.

What if you raise more than $30,000?

Every dollar above our goal means more scholarships and fewer people turned away.
