Dr. Lenore Schaffer is the Chief Program Officer at Restore NYC, where she provides strategic leadership for the organization’s Housing, Economic Empowerment, Client Services, and Impact Evaluation programs supporting survivors of human trafficking. In this role, she focuses on growing and strengthening survivor-centered services while advancing practices that support staff well-being and resilience in trauma-exposed fields. Lenore has more than a decade of experience in higher education, counseling, and nonprofit leadership, with a career-long commitment to addressing gender-based violence and supporting those working on the front lines of care. Prior to joining Restore in 2019, she served as The University of Southern Mississippi’s first Deputy Title IX Coordinator, where she helped oversee the university’s response to sexual misconduct and Title IX compliance. Lenore holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration with a minor in Student Affairs from The University of Southern Mississippi and a M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Services from Lehigh University. She is passionate about advancing trauma-informed leadership and cultivating cultures of well-being within mission-driven organizations.
