Half Earth

We are inspired by the work of renowned biologist, researcher, and author, E. O. Wilson, who has proposed that the only way to forestall the sixth great extinction event is to set aside half of the earth as a protected, natural ecology. Wilson projects that we will be able to maintain a viable level of ecological health if we preserve the interconnected zones and ecotones that generate the richest biodiversity. It is essential that any framework for civilization be grounded in protecting half the earth–or more–for planetary health.
