In the video below, teachers talk about what the CARE for Teachers program is and why it matters. By using mindfulness and other emotion skills training techniques, the program helps teachers regulate both their own well-being and the quality of their classrooms.
Since this video was produced, more research about the CARE for Teachers program has been completed. It was previously known that participating in the CARE for Teachers program improves teachers’ well-being; however, new findings demonstrate that these benefits reach beyond each individual teacher and also improve the quality of their classrooms. This is remarkable, according to Garrison Institute Senior Fellow Tish Jennings, because the CARE for teachers program focuses entirely on the teachers and does not provide them with any training in classroom management or teaching strategies.
