The Resilient Leaders Network

Garrison Institute’s Contemplative-Based Resilience (CBR) team is excited to launch the Resilient Leaders Network to support professionals in leadership positions within mission-driven, local nonprofits. Nonprofit leaders such as Executive Directors, Program Directors, and Human Resource Managers working in a 5-county region of the lower Hudson Valley are invited to join the network. The network provides free access to the ABCs of Resilience for Nonprofit Leaders course, Resilience in Leadership expert webinar series, rest and renewal retreat at Garrison Institute and consultation session and technical assistance in maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Who should join the Resilient Leaders Network?

  • You are in a leadership role at a non-profit in the greater Westchester county area.
    • Eligible counties: Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster
    • Eligible positions: Executive Director, Human Resource Manager, Program Director or equivalent (those in leadership positions who oversee staff and/or organizational culture)
  • You are leading a team and want to enhance the well-being of your organization’s team members and your organization’s social impact
  • You want to deepen your own resiliency and self-care practices and bring new practices to your leadership and organization
  • You want to benefit from a peer-learning network that gives you access to supportive resources (and you’re stressed and don’t want more work to do!)

ABCs of Resilience for Nonprofit Leaders Course (3 two-hour workshops, via Zoom)

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Join a cohort of non-profit leaders to explore new strategies for creating a culture of caring within your organization – supporting your own and your employees’ well-being.

Network members gain access to:

1. ABCs of Resilience 6-hour virtual course – The ABCs of Resilience course presents an overview of the impact of stress on leaders and introduces key skills for building resilience to support one’s personal well-being and professional impact. This is an interactive virtual course that is delivered as three (3) two-hour live Zoom sessions. This course is approved by NYSED through NASW for 6.0 CE credits for licensed social workers, mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists in the state of New York.

2. Resilience in Leadership Webinar Series – This series consists of three (3) live, one-hour live webinars featuring experts who are uniquely situated to provide guidance and expertise. All webinars will be recorded for repeat viewing or for those unable to participate.

  • Part 1 – Compassion at Work, presented by organizational psychologist Monica Worline, PhD., author of Compassion at Work: The Quiet Power That Elevates People and Organizations.
  • Part 2 – Leveraging Mindfulness in the Workplace, presented by social entrepreneur and executive coach Sander Tideman, author of Triple Value Leadership.
  • Part 3 – Embodying Resilient Leadership, Speaker TBA

3. Retreat at the Garrison Institute – Attend a retreat at the Garrison Institute and enjoy our beautiful grounds. Choose from a menu of activities designed to help you re-center, rest and recharge. The retreat spans from Friday to Sunday, with the option to arrive and depart as you like.

4. Consultation & Technical Assistance – All Network members will have an opportunity to participate in bi-monthly drop-in consultation sessions with CBR faculty and fellow leaders as you implement the skills learned through various Resilient Leaders program offerings.

Deadline to register for the Resilient Leaders Network and all its benefits is March 31.

COST

Due to the generous support from the Westchester Community Foundation, the first 30 people may join the Resilient Leaders Network and receive all the benefits, for only $675 (program value $2875). In order to serve the greatest number of local non-profit organizations, we can accept up to 3 people from any one organization.

This Resilient Leaders Network is made possible by a grant provided by the Westchester Community Foundation, a division of the New York Community Trust.

The health and safety of our guests and staff is a top priority for the Garrison Institute. To attend a retreat or event all guests, teachers, and staff are required to self-test (at home antigen test is acceptable) within the 48-hour window prior to arriving for a retreat on site, and to bring a 2nd self-test kit when coming on site. We encourage everyone to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and other illnesses before your visit.
