Alice Kennedy: Baltimore Neighborhood Energy Challenge

At the Garrison Institute’s 2011 Climate, Cities and Behavior Symposium, Alice Kennedy, the City of Baltimore’s Sustainability Coordinator, describes the Baltimore Neighborhood Energy Challenge, an energy-saving competition built on neighbor to neighbor conversations facilitated by “energy captains,” community-based events, and outreach and promotional activites. The nine month pilot competition resulted in up to a 12% energy reduction in some neighborhoods.
