At the Garrison Institute’s 2011 Climate, Cities and Behavior Symposium, Alicia Zatcoff, the Sustainability Manager for the City of Richmond describes the City’s recycling program. She points out that many of the country’s larger cities have been recycling for years and rely on a viable recycling infrastructure and culture to support them, while Richmond and other smaller cities have new programs, or at least new objectives to increase recycling rates. She describes some of Richmond’s recycling challenges and the possible solutions on the table.
