We are enthusiastic to welcome Helena Norberg-Hodge to the Garrison Institute on the evening of January 26, 7 pm, when she presents her latest film, “The Economics of Happiness.” After the film Norberg-Hodge will discuss how rebuilding smaller scale, ecological, local economies can help us rediscover those essential relationships, both with the living world and with one another, that ultimately give our lives meaning and joy. The founder and director of the International Society for Ecology and Culture (ISEC), Helena Norberg-Hodge is the author of, among other works, Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh, based on her firsthand experience of the effects of conventional development in Ladakh. The event is open to the public and free of charge – we hope you’ll join us! Learn more about the evening here, read about the film in a recent article by Catherine Ingram on the Huffington Post (January 19), or visit the Economics of Happiness website and check out the movie trailer.
